  • Breast cancer is a malignancy in the tissue of breast which can originate from ductal epitelium or lobules. Chemotherapy is important component in management of breast cancer. There are many kinds of chemotherapy, one of them is neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The aim of this chemotherapy is to reduce the size of tumor and to decrease the stadium before undergoing procedure such as surgery and radiation. The purpose of this research is to identify the adverse reaction of anthracycline-based, taxane-based, and combination of anthracycline and taxane neoadjuvant chemotherapy experienced by breast cancer patients and the onset of adverse effect. This research was done by using a descriptive observational design at RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in October until November 2019. The sample of this research is breast cancer patients whose recieved chemotherapy at RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. The data was collected by interviews and medical record observed that analysed by univariate analysis method. The result of this research showed that among 34 breast cancer patients, alopecia occurred to 97,1% and the adverse effect that appear first are nausea, vomiting, and color change of urine occurred in the second day in the first cycle of chemotherapy.
