Daftar Isi:
- Backgrounds: Primary dysmenorrhea is a complaint experienced before or during menstruation which is the most common gynecological complaint among young women, is not based on pathology and is not related to other diseases. Since the 1930s, physical exercise has been recommended by doctors or clinics for primary dysmenorrhea, but there is still no evidence that has been agreed upon in this regard. Physical exercise can reduce stress, have anti-nociceptive properties, and reduce levels of PGF2α. Methods: This type of research is Quasi Experimental with a "pre and post test" design. In this design, tests were conducted on both groups before and after being treated, then the result will be compared. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive, which took 30 samples which were divided into 2 groups, namely the intervention group and the control group with 15 samples each. Results: The results showed in the intervention group, decreased the average pain scores from 3.20 to 3.07 while in the control group there was no change in pain scores. Based on the paired t-test it could be stated that there was no effect of physical exercise on the degree of primary dysmenorrhea pain statistically with p value = 0.610 (p> 0.05). Conclusion: There was no significant effect of physical exercise on statistically reduced pain levels but there was a decrease in average pain score.
