PREVALENSI KOMPLIKASI GINJAL PADA PASIEN ANAK THALASSEMIA BETA MAYOR DI RSUP DR MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG

- Background: Thalassemia is a hereditary hemoglobinopathy disorder caused by decreased production of globin chains, resulting in an unbalanced synthesis of globin chains. Thalassemia can cause renal complications in the form of glomerular and tubular abnormalities. Objectives: To describe the prevalence of renal complications in pediatric patient with thalassemia major at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palmebang for period of 2017-2019. Methods: This study observasional descriptive research with cross sectional design that used medical record aas secondary data. The data was collected at Inpatient Installation Building I RSUP Dr. Mohmmad Hoesin Palembang in status of thalassemia pediatric patients, Register of Nephrology, medical records installation in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in May-November 2019. The medical record data that fulfilled the exclusion and inclusion criteria was 121 data from 156 medical records data of RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin during January 2017- October 2019. Results: 121 respondents, there was 5 patients (4,1%) with decrease in GFR, 5 patients (4,1%) with AKI, none of thw patients had CKD and 5 patients recorded in medical record with abnormal urine composition
