INSIDENSI PSORIASIS VULGARIS DI POLIKLINIK DERMATOLOGI DAN VENEREOLOGI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE 2014 – 2018

- Background. Psoriasis vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by a well-demarcated, erythematous plaque, covered by psoriasiform scales, commonly distributed on the limb, trunk, face, and the scalp. The latest data about the incidence of psoriasis vulgaris is very limited, therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the incidence of psoriasis vulgaris in Dermatology and Venereology Outpatient Clinic in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang from 2014 to 2018. Methods. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study and the samples were collected from the medical record data of psoriasis vulgaris patients using a total sampling technique. Results. The incidence of psoriasis vulgaris in 2014-2018 were 0.94%, 0.62%, 2.1%, 2.07%, and 2.69%, respectively. There were 89 new cases of psoriasis vulgaris. Psoriasis vulgaris was more common in male (64.6%) and 32-41 years old age group (27.1%). Most lesions were localized on the limb (87,5%) and the trunk (87,5%). Based on the PASI score, most patients had mild psoriasis (47.9%). Most patients were treated with topical therapy (77.1%), such as emollient (37.5%), whereas only 1 patients (2,1%) were treated with systemic regiment. The most common of suspected precipitating factors was smoking (33.3%). Conclusion. The incidence of psoriasis vulgaris from 2014-2018 tends to increase. Keyword: Psoriasis vulgaris, Incidence, PASI
