HUBUNGAN ANTARA TINGKAT KECEMASAN DAN INSOMNIA PADA LANSIA DI PANTI WERDHA PALEMBANG

- Elderly is vulnerable to insomnia (sleep disorders). As a person gets older, they will encounter difficulty to get the quality and quantity of effective sleep. Due to many factors that affect, one of them is anxiety caused insomnia. The elderly whom facing these changes, experience more setbacks than progresses in various aspects. Therefore, if experiencing failure in adapting to those changes, may cause anxiety that affects insomnia. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and insomnia in the elderly. This study was an observational analytic study that used a cross sectional approach to 62 elderly in the age of 60 years old that live in Panti Werdha Dharma Bakti and Panti Sosial Lanjut Usia Harapan Kita in Palembang on September 2019. The asssessment of anxiety levels in the elderly used Zung Self Rating Anxiety Scale and for insomnia assessment used Insomnia Rating Scale. Based on the sociodemographic characteristics; the highest age is 60-70 years old, the gender majority is female, the most previous education is elementary school and the highest married status is marriage. The highest level of anxiety is mild-moderate anxiety in 30 people (48.4%) while the incidence of insomnia is happening in 40 people (64.5%). There is a significant relationship between the level of anxiety and insomnia (p value = 0.000) with the PR value for the level of severe anxiety is 3.6 and the level of mild-moderate anxiety is 4.1.
