  • Phytochemical And Antidiabetic Test Of Ethanol Extract From Yellow Root (Arcangelisia flava) On Wistar Male Mice (Rattus Norvegicus). Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease caused by insulin deficiency and insulin secretion due to damage in pancreas. Prevalence rate of DM every year increase it makes using alternatives medicine for example using the herbal plants. One of the plants that has efficacy as an antidiabetic drugs is yellow root (Arcangelisia flava). This study aimed to determine the effect of yellow root to reduce sugar blood levels in wistar male mice (Rattus Norvegicus). This research is experimental research using pre-posttest design with control group design. The subject of research is wistar male mice (Rattus Norvegicus) age 2-3 months, weight 100-120 grams, divided into 5 groups, which is positive control (K1), negative control (K2), dose I of yellow root 250mg / kgBB (K3), dose II of yellow root 500mg / kgBB (K4 ) and dose III of yellow root 750mg / kgBB (K5). Sugar blood test in mice using spectrophotometer and GOD-PAP enzymes were done 4 times, pretest and posttest. Pretest sugar blood test was done on day 0, and posttest sugar blood test was done on days 4, 8, and 15. Posthoc test cannot determine an effective dose to reducing sugar blood levels using ethanol extract of yellow root (Arcangelisia flava) so it has to increase the dose of ethanol extract of yellow wood root >750mg/kgBB. Treatment with yellow root for 15 days (p <0,000) can reduce sugar blood levels in wistar male mice (Rattus Norvegicus). Ethanol extract of yellow wood root (Arcangelisia flava) can reduce sugar blood levels in wistar male mice (Rattus Norvegicus). Keywords: Yellow root (Arcangelisia flava), alpha glucosidase inhibitor, sugar blood
