  • Background. Aortic arch calcification on chest x-ray correlated to traditional cardiovascular risk, including age, gender, hypertension (HT), diabetes mellitus (DM), chronic kidney diseases (CKD). Correlation of hypertension with vascular calcification remains unclear. The aim this study to know the correlation of hypertension grade with aortic arch calcification (AAC) grade on chest x-ray. Methods. Cross-sectionally, determine age, gender, HT grade, history of DM, history of CKD from medical record and review chest x-ray to determine AAC grade on 175 patients. Results. From 175 patients, correlation of HT grade with AAC grade not significant (p>), very weak and negative (r= -0,03). Age(p<0,1; =1,115), history of DM(p=0,1; =1,851), history of CKD (p<0,1; =2,027) were correlated to AAC. Conclusion. There is no significant correlation between HT grade and AAC grade. Age, DM, CKD correlated to AAC.
