  • This research aims to find out the effect of compensation (x) on job satisfaction (y) employees of The Environmental Department of the cleaning section of Ogan Komering Ilir District. The formulation of the problem raised is whether compensation has a positive effect on job satisfaction. Research is associative with a quantitative approach. The number of sample used was 133 respondents with data collection techniques through questionnaires. Questionnaires data was tested using the research instrument test and the analysis technique used is a simple linear regression analysis technique and use the a partial (t test) test to test the hypothesis. The result of research to show that compensation has a positive effect on job satisfaction that is equal to 0.130 or 13% with a weak level of correlation that is equal to 0.361.
