Wetting Front in Pitcher Irrigation on Three Types of Soil and Different Bulk Densities. The research objective was to determine the wetting front in pitcher irrigation on three types of soil and different bulk densities. This research was conducted in Soil and Water Engineering Laboratory of Agricultural Technology Department, Agricultural Faculty, of Sriwijaya University from August until December 2017. This research was conducted by using descriptive method with two different factors treatments consisting of three soils i.e. ultisol, peat, and aluvial and two levels of bulk density i.e. 0.85± 0.01 (g/cm3) and 0.95 ± 0.01 (g/cm3). The observed parameters were discharge from the pitcher (ml/s), water content and seepage front from pitcher irrigation. The data was presented by using graphs and tables. The result showed that, the highest wetting of front was obtained from peat soil with 0.95 g/cm3 density wetting front of 19.2 cm from pitcher center. Soil type is related to the soil matrix suction i.e, the higher of soil matrix suction the higher the infiltration flow.
