  • The purposes of this research were to: (1) analyze factors that influence the decision of tidal rice farmers in applying and not applying Combine Harvester in the process of the rice harvest in Telang Sari Village Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, (2) analyze the differences in employment and income of farmer that apply and not apply Combine Harvester in the process of the rice harvest in Telang Sari Village Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. The research was conducted on January 2017 in Telang Sari Village Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency. The research method was survey, with the sampling method was Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling used 30 samples of farmers that apply Combine Harvester and 30 samples of farmers that not apply Combine Harvester. The result of this research are : (1) Significant factors influencing tidal rice farmer's decision in Telang Sari village using or not using Combine Harvester are farmer age, land area, rice production, rice field character, land type, harvest labor, harvest labor cost, and work convenience; While the educational factors, the number of family members, and social conditions are not significant. (2) There is a significant difference between the use of labor between farmers using Combine Harvester and farmers who do not use Combine Harvester. Where the average use of labor harvest farmers who do not use Combine Harvester is much more that amounted to 19 people per ha compared to users of Combine Harvester users only 7 people/ ha, While the use of labor based on HOK farmers who do not use the Harvester Combine machine is also higher ie 72 people/ HOK compared to the farmer only 55 people Combine users/ HOK (3) There is no significant income difference between farmers using Combine Harvester and farmers who do not use Combine Harvester. However, the income of farmers who did not use Harvester Combine machine was slightly higher with average income of Rp.16,613,604 / ha/ yr from farmers using Harvester Combine machine amounting to Rp.15.028.194 / ha/ yr with income difference of Rp .1.585.411 / ha/ yr. The difference in income is caused by the different types of land, the land of non Combine farmers contained a lot of nutrients, the land is still fertile, not contaminated with chemicals, the availability of water is always there throughout the year, higher rice production and better grain quality and high grain prices.
