  • This study was conducted to see the suitability and look for the information about the state of the climate in the period January 2012 - December 2016 in the Southern Part of Sumatra and using the data of monitoring stations and data European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). The suitability test of data obtained by performing the calculation of the coefficient of linear correlation, linear regression, Mean Bias Error (MBE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Error (MAE). The analysis shows that air pressure has the highest correlation of r = 0.99 in the Palembang area, while rainfall has the highest correlation r = 0,73 in the Palembang and Jambi areas. The value of monthly climatological air pressure of weather station are relatively higher than ECMWF. As for the monthly climatological rainfall pattern, it shows that area of Palembang, Jambi, Bangka and Lampung have Equatorial pattern, while the region of Lampung has a monsoon patterns. Furthermore, air pressure anomalies showed the value of positive throughout the year in all areas of study, while the rainfall anomalies has a negative values that occurs consistently starting in June to October.
