  • Insect pest is one of serious problems frequently faced by rice growers in their efforts to increase rice production. This research was aimed to know bioinsecticides having effects on insect population and the growth of rice plants. The research was conducted in paddy field in Village of Pelabuhan Dalam, District Pemulutan, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. The formulation of bioinsecticide was done in the Laboratory of Entomology, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The research was from June to December 2016. The method used in the research was Randomised Completely Block Design consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were control, bioinsecticide containing Beauveria bassiana, bioinsecticide containing Metarhizium anisopliae, bioinsecticide containing Bacillus thuringiensis, and commercial bioinsecticide (BVR). In this research, the dominant insect pests found in the paddy field were Scirpophaga interculas (rice borer), Locusta migratoria (migratory grasshopper) and Cnaphalocrosis medinalis (fake white pest) 5 weeks after planting – 9 weeks after planting, and Leptocorisa acuta(stingy bug) more than 9 weeks after planting. The conclusions of this study was that the lowest population found in Bacillus thuringiensis different treatment nyata.pada ages 2, 3, and 9 weeks after planting, the planting season ratun all treatments showed significantly different results to the population and insect pest attack.
