  • Synthesis and preparation of Keggin type of polyoxometalate H4[α-SiW12O40] which is characterized by FT-IR showed wave numbers of 771.53 cm-1– 979.84 cm-1 and polyoxometalate compound H4[α-SiW12O40] supported with TiO2 in the various of TiO2 weight 0.25 g, 0.5 g, 0.75 g, 1 g, and 1.25 g to form H4[αSiW12O40]-TiO2 has been conducted. The compound of H4[α-SiW12O40]-TiO2 was characterized throught FT-IR shows the optimum TiO2 was achieved in 0,25 g and 0,5 g. Characterization using FT-IR showed H4[α-SiW12O40] appeared at wave number 771.53 cm-1 – 979.84 cm-1 and TiO2 at 524.64 cm-1 – 678.94 cm-1. XRD powder pattern for each various of H4[α-SiW12O40] TiO2 shows 0,25 g and 0,5 g was succesfully supported with TiO2. Compound of H4[α-SiW12O40] -TiO2 was applied as catalyst in the oxidation of cyclohexane with hydrogen peroxide as oxidator. The factors influencing in the oxidation of cyclohexane with catalyst H4[α-SiW12O40] TiO2 was optimized such reaction time, hydrogen peroxide amount, temperature and catalyst weight. The research shows conversion optimum was achieved 99.00% for H4[α-SiW12O40]- TiO2 with 0,5 g. Optimization toward reaction time resulted optimum reaction for 2 hours,hydrogen peroxide 3 mL, temperature 80oC and catalyst weight 0.038 g. Analysis using GC-MS in the oxidation of cyclohexane with H4[α-SiW12O40]- TiO2 as catalyst did not produced cyclohexanol but formed cyclohexanone with 43.6% selectivity.
