PENGARUH JARAK ROLL DAN LAMA PENJEMURAN TERHADAP PERSENTASE PECAH BIJI KEMIRI PADA MESIN PEMECAH CANGKANG KEMIRI TIPE DOUBLE ROLL

- This research was aimed to examine the performance of a double roll type candlenut shelling machine at various lengths of drying of candlenut seeds and the distance of breaker roll. This research was conducted in November 2018 until April 2019 in the Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra. The method used was a Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAKF) with two research factors, namely drying time (A) and roll distance (B) with three levels of treatment and each treatment combination was repeated three times. The parameters of this study were the percentage of the intact core, percentage of split in two core, percentage of core destroyed, percentage of seed escapes. The results of this study indicated that treatment of roll distance significantly influence the percentage of intact core, percentage of split in two core, percentage of core destroyed, percentage of seed escapes. The highest percentage of the intact core was found in a combination of long drying 20 hours with a roll distance of 1.8 cm (A2B2) which was 1.88%. The highest percentage of split in two core was found in the length of drying for 20 hours with a roll distance of 1.5 cm (A2B1) which was 44.51%. The highest percentage of the crushed core was found in the length of drying for 16 hours with a roll distance of 1.5 cm (A1B1) which was 15.67%. And the highest percentage of escaped seeds was found in the length of drying 24 hours with a roll distance of 2.1 cm (A3B3) which was equal to 57.14%.
