  • ANALYSIS FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH FATIGUE LEVEL IN FISH PORTERS AT CENTRAL MARKET JAKABARING PALEMBANG ABSTRACT Background: Work fatigue is a health issues that has an impact on declining performance adan adding to work errors. Declining performance means the decline in work productivity. Work fatigue can be caused by several factors both internal factors and external factor. The purpose of this study was to analysis determine factors both factors internal and factors external related to level of fatigue of fish porters at Jakabaring central market Palembang. Methods: This is a descriptive analytical study with cross sectional approach. The sample of this study is 53 fish porters. Data of fatigue were gathered using Human Benchmark Reaction Timer Test. The statistical test used is chi square test for applying univariate and bivariate analyses. Results: The results of the study showed that age factor (p-value = 0,008), marriage status (p-value = 0,001), smoking habit (p-value = 0,041) and workload (p-value = 0,000) there was a correlation with level of fatigue, while the nutritional status (p-value = 1,000), long sleep (p-value = 0,177), sleep quality (p-value = 1,000), working time (p-value = 0,054) dan work period (p-value = 0,708) had no correlation with level of fatigue. Conclusions: Porters are suggested to adjust the weight of the load that is take according to their capabilities and utilize the break. It is expected that fish seller give the porters for time to rest (5 minutes) after 2 hours of work to avoid muscle tension. Keywords : Fatigue, Fish Porter
