Daftar Isi:
- This research was aimed to determine the level of workload of farmers on manual tillage using different types of hoe handles. This research has been conducted at Bengtapa Village, South Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra and Computer and Drafting Laboratory as well as the Biosystem Laboratory, Agricultural Technology Department, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya on December 2018 to April 2019. The resulting data was primary data resulting from measurements directly from the results of measurements of farmers' heart rate in field and several physical measurements of the body and secondary data from the results of interviews and questionnaires to farmers. The observed parameters in this research were IRHR values, TECST, TEC, BME values, WEC and WEC’ values. Based on the results of this research, the level of subject workload on seedbed preparation using short handle hoes had an average IRHR value of 1.57 bpm in the heavy workload category whereas using long handle hoes has an average IRHR value of 1.49 in the load category moderate work. The tillage work load in seedbed preparation using short handle hoes was heavier than using long handle hoes with average energy consumption (TEC) 4.18 kcal/minute while using long handle hoes was 3.18 kcal/minute .
