- This research is aims to determine student responses and student learning outcomes in mathematics learning material derived from algebraic functions by applying probing prompting learning strategies. This research is a quantitative descriptive research with 34 students of XI. IPA 2 class at SMAN 9 Palembang as the subject. The learning process is carried out according to the steps of probing prompting learning strategies. Data collection techniques used were observation and tests. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that student responsses and student learning outcomes in mathematics learning material derived from algebraic functions by applying probing prompting learning strategies in general were categorized as Good. The average student responses in mathematics learning material derived from algebraic functions by applying probing prompting learning strategies amounted to 72,55 in the good category. And the average student learning outcomes in mathematics learning material derived from algebraic functions by applying probing prompting learning strategies amounted to 73.19 in the good category.
