  • This research is about the correlation between online game and Grade Point Average (GPA) of Engineering Education students batch 2009-2011 at Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Sriwijaya University. This research aims to know about the characteristic of students who play online game, to know how much the value of correlation between online game and GPA, and also to know the correlation between online game and GPA. The population of this research is all Engineering Education students batch 2009-2011. Samples were taken as many as 30 students. Sampling method used Porposive Sample. Method used in this research is correlation. The research instrument that had been used is the questioner which had been trial the validity, reliability and normality. This research used Likert scala to analyze the data. Based on the result, the characterictics shown that the most students playing online game is male students of batch 2011 and half of them live in boarding house. They have known online game since senior high school. They play game less than 10 hours per week and facebook game is the most game they play often. The correlation value is -0,67376 by Product Moment Formula. The calculation gained tcount = -4,82 and ttable = 2,467. By comparing tcount and ttable, it is gained tcount > ttable (Negative mark does not mean as negative number, but it uses left tailed hypothesis test). So that, Ho is rejected. It means that there is significant corellation between online game and Grade Point Average (GPA) of Engineering Education students . Thought the result of this research, it is suggested that the readers should be balancing between playing game and getting achievement.
