PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN ASPAL BUTON, ASPAL KARET, DAN ASPAL MINYAK PADA CAMPURAN STONE MATRIX ASPHALT (SMA) HALUS DENGAN PENGUJIAN MARSHALL

- The most common flexible pavement used in Indonesia were asphalt concrete and hot rolled sheet. With the most frequently problems in flexible pavement caused by the extremely high traffic load. Therefore, stone matrix asphalt (SMA) can be used as an alternative because SMA is a mixture with high percentage of coarse aggregate and asphalt. Beside that, stone matrix asphalt mixture can also modified with buton asphalt and latex or rubberized asphalt as an alternate of refinery asphalt. Therefore, in this research will be made a comparison about stone matrix asphalt with buton asphalt, rubberized asphalt, and refinery asphalt based on Marshall properties. Based on the test result, optimum asphalt content for the buton asphalt mixture was 7,25%, rubberized asphalt mixture was 6,95% and refinery asphalt mixture was 7,15%. The result showed that the stability and marshall quotient of stone matrix asphalt with buton asphalt were the highest and also the amount of asphalt used were the highest too. Stone matrix asphalt with rubberized asphalt were better in the amount of asphalt used, also the difference in stability was only 52,216 kg from the buton asphalt mixture, but with the highest flow. Stone matrix asphalt which used refinery asphalt has the lowest stability and marshall quotient. But for voids in mineral aggregate and voids in mixture properties for three of them had just a little difference, it can be said the percentage was almost same.
