  • Jerry can is one of the packaging which has decreased mechanical properties during transportation pr~cess. The decline occurs due to several factors, one of them is the selection of raw materials (HDPE). The addition of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) in high density polyethylene (HDPE) aims to analyze the effect of addition of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) in high density polyethylene (HDPE) on physical properties (melt index and density), mechanical properties (hardness, impact, and flexural) and resistance to the top load compatible for jerry can applications. This study done by mixing HDPE and LLDPE with variations of composition 100:0, 90: 10, and 80:20. The study results that the mixture of HDPE and LLDPE has a better characteristic than HOPE alone, expect the top load testing on the jerry can because the uneven distribution of thickness of the jerry· can.
