  • Kabau plants (Archidendronbubalinum) is one of traditiobal plants that is being used as an antidiabetic. This research is conducted to see the characteristic and kabau plant ethanol extract antidiabetic activity in order to lower blood glucose that has been induced by high-calory diet and fructose. This research is using white rat malr that were divided into 6 groups, that is normal control (aquadest), negative control (Na CMC 0,5%), postive control (Metformin 30,24 mg/200gBB), and treatment group I-III (kabau plant extract ethanol with 100, 200, and 400 mg/kgBB as dosage). The result of characterisation showed that kabau plant cortex consisted of flavonoid, phenolic, saponin, tannin, and triterpenoid with moisture concentration 6,75%, loss on drying 6,32%, total ash content 5%, acid-insoluble ash content 0,58%. Blood glucose concentration preprandialis measured by photometer DTN-410-K at day 0, 30, 35, and 45. The AUC30-45 result and the decreasing percentage of blood glucose concentration for positive group is 1727,01 and 73,29%, also 3 treatment group (dosage 100 mg/kgBB, 200 mg/kgBB, and 400 mg/kgBB) respectively 1998,204 and 24,70%; 1879,988 and 42,67%; 1801,724 and 59,85%. According to the research it can be concluded that kabau plant cortext stem ethanol extract has antidiabetic activity. According to the relationship between decreasing blood glucose concentration to the dosage, ED50 value of the kabau plant ethanol extract is sebesar 300,70 mg/kgBB.
