- The placemenet of employees in the book division of PT Gramedia Asri Media Branch Gramedia World Palembang should be done appropriately so the work can be completed well and in a faster time. Therefore, an evaluation of employee placement is required for more optimal performance. This study discusses the optimization of the assignment problem of employee performance on book division in PT Gramedia Asri Media Branch Gramedia World Palembang by applying Hungarian method. The results of the study show that the position of employees in the schoolbook and fiction books not changed. However, the position of employees in the general book and women`s books shows a change of position. The total score of the optimal employee performance appraisal by using Hungarian method is 2767. The total score of employee appraisal in initial position is 2731. If both compared, then the solution with Hungarian method is 1,30% more effective. Whereas when it is compared with the scoring of employees by using random samples is 2700, then the solution using Hungarian methods is 2,42% more effective.
