KESALAHAN PENGGUNAAN BAHASA INDONESIA DALAM BERITA SURAT KABAR SRIWIJAYA POST EDISI SEPTEMBER—OKTOBER 2018 DAN IMPLIKASINYA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA

- This study aims to describe the misuse of Indonesian in sentences, vocabulary and spelling in the September—October 2018 edition of the Sriwijaya Post newspaper. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The source of data in this research is in the form of news in the September—October 2018 edition of Sriwijaya newspaper, which consists of 20 pages/day. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques while data analysis techniques by identifying, classifying, analyzing and making conclusions from errors in the use of Indonesian. The results showed that there were 67 stories in the Sriwijaya Post newspaper that had errors in the use of the Indonesian language, namely, effective sentences amounting to 9 consisting of cohesion and efficiency of sentences, standard vocabulary errors totaling 25 which were not in accordance with the Big Indonesian Dictionary, and 111 Indonesian spelling errors that do not comply with the Indonesian Spelling General Guidelines. The Indonesian spelling mistake is divided into 3 parts, namely the use of letters, namely capital letters amounting to 8 and italics totaling 29 words, rewriting words in the form of 2, combining words totaling 3, syllables totaling 44 and prepositions amounting to 12, and the use of punctuation marks is a period (.) of 2, a comma (,) of 4, a dash (-) of 3, and a dash (—) of 4. The implication in learning Indonesian in SMP students in class VIII odd semester of 2013 curriculum, in the form of language and news texts in Sriwijaya Post newspaper.
