UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI FRAKSI DAN SENYAWA AKTIF DAUN KARDIA (Bellucia pentamera Naudin) TERHADAP Escherichia coli DAN Staphylococcus aureus
Daftar Isi:
- Cases of infection occur in Indonesia is quite high, which accounted for 10% of the problems of infectious diseases in Southeast Asia. Some of the microbes that cause infections are Escherichia coli in the digestive tract and Staphylococcus aureus of the skin. This research aims to determine the antibacterial activity of Fraction and Active Compounds from Kardia’s leaves (Bellucia pentamera Naudin) against E. coli and S. aureus. This research has been held on November and December 2016. The method in this research applied extraction by maceration, fractionation by liquid fractionation (FCC), antibacterial activity using agar diffusion method, and the isolation of the active compound by column chromatography. Bacteria used in this research were E. coli ATCC 25922 and S. aureus ATCC 25923. The results of this reseach showed the ability of the methanol water fraction that can inhibit the growth of E. coli and S. aureus. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) from fraction of methanol water on E. coli was 125 μg/ml and S. aureus was 500 μg/ml. The result of the purification of the active compound obtained M15 isolate thought to be tannins compound with Rf value was 0,125. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of active compounds on E. coli was 62,5 μg/ml and S. aureus was 62,5 μg/ml. The conclusion of this research was leaves of Kardia (Bellucia pentamera Naudin) has antibacterial compounds which could inhibiting the growth of E. coli and S. aureus. Allegedly contained antibacterial compounds are tannins.
