  • This study will be compared to the value of soil resistivity in tap-rooted plant and fibers in Sungai Rambutan North Inderalaya District. In this case of the study was done on plant lands fiber roots of palm and rubber-rooted land and tap-rooted. This study used a 2D geoelectric resistivity using the Wenner-Sclumberger configuration, data processing used software RES2DINV. From the results of measurements and data processing were known that the resistivity of rubber land is higher than the resistivity of palm plantation land with a ratio value of 50 – 80 Ωm for rubber plantation and 5 – 50 Ωm for palm plantation. It is possible to be influenced by the root system at both plants. At the root system of vines, roots will spread in the horizontal and vertical directions which resulted a decreasing consolidated soil, so the surface soil looser relatively. The impact is porosity soil will be greater so the surface soil around the plant will be easier to absorb/ accumulate water. Increased moisture in the soil will increase the electrical conductivity properties of the soil that resulted in low soil resistivity values. While on tap-roots systems, the roots only in the vertical direction, so the surface soil is relatively more solid and the porosity of the soil is to be smaller. As a result, the lower water absorption, so that the conductivity is also decrease so that the resistivity value of soil is increase.
