  • Coral reef is a natural wealth owned by Indonesia. Target fish are types of consumption fish which associated with coral reefs. This study aimed to determine the extent of coral coverage to the abundance of target fish group in the territorial waters of Tangkil Island, Lampung Bay. The study was conducted in August 2016 at 2 station. Data were taken by using quadratic transects for coral reefs and transect belts with transect belt video methods for target fish. The types of coral reefs found in Tangkil Island, Lampung Bay were : Acropora Branching, Acropora Encrusting, Acropora Digitate, Acropora Submassive, Coral Branching, Coral Foliose, Coral Massive, Coral Mushrom. The extent of coral cover on station 1 was dominated on substrate type with 11% coverage whereas at station 2 the area of coral reefs cover dominated at coral by 46%. The target fish species found in Tangkil Island, Lampung Bay were Acanthuridae sp and Siganidae sp. The species of Acanthuridae sp had an abundance of 0.02-0.03 individuals/m2, and the species of Siganidae sp was 0.04 individuals/m2. The abundance of the target fish was in the low category. Coral biodiversity found in Tangkil Island varies with low diversity and high uniformity.
