PENGGUNAAN RUMPON PORTABLE TERHADAP HASIL TANGKAPAN BAGAN TANCAP DI PERAIRAN SUNGSANG KABUPATEN BANYUASIN SUMATERA SELATAN

- Fishing activities around Sungsang water district Banyuasin use lift net. Lift net in the district uses the light from Petromach as a tool to help in fishing operations. The replenishment of rumpon as the helping tool use to increase the catch of fishing. The purpose of this research is to analyze the durability of nypa leaf as rumpon also to analyze the result of catching using portable rumpon in the area. This research was conducted in June 2015. The method used is experimental fishing with 3 different treatments for lift net. Lift net A used 12 bunch of rumpon, lift net B used 28 bunch of rumpon, and lift net C did not use rumpon (control). The result showed that the application of nypa leaf as rumpon had durability for 5 days. The application of portable rumpon in lift net A and lift net B did not yield any effect for the catch result compared with lift net control. However, the catch result in lift net A was more in lift net B. Based on results, the position of rumpon hindered the light from Petromach lamp thus affecting the result of priority catch fish which have phototaxis behavior.
