PENGARUH PENYIMPANAN KERNEL (INTI SAWIT) TERHADAP KUALITAS MINYAK INTI SAWIT
Daftar Isi:
- Plant oil palm (Elaeis quinensis jacq) is a tropical plant palm group. The main result is the oil palm plantations of oil palm fruit. Oil produced from oil palm fruit processing in the form of palm oil (CPO or Crude Palm Oil) and palm kernel oil (PKO or Palm Kernel Oil). Palm kernel oil or commonly called Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) produced from palm kernel. Palm kernel oil (PKO) has the components contained therein such as fatty acids, dirt, and water. This component can affect the quality of the oil. This study aimed to determine the effect of time, types of packaging and storage conditions on the quality of palm kernel oil. The research was conducted from January 2015 through to March 2015 in the Chemical Laboratory of Agricultural Products Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya. This research used Factorial Completely Randomized Design (FCRD) with two treatment factors and three repetitions. The first factor is the type of packaging A1 (without packaging), A2 (packaging plastic rice sacks) and A3 (packaging rag). The second factor is the storage area B1 (outdoors) and B2 (in the room). The results showed that the types of packaging and storages of the best are A2B2 treatment (packaging plastic bags of rice stored in the room). Water content, free fatty acids and peroxide value highest in outdoor storage without packaging, while the oil content has the lowest value. Type of packaging plastic bags of rice and jute sacks significant effect on water content, free fatty acid levels, levels of oil and peroxide. The best type of packaging contained in the type of plastic packaging bags of rice and the best storage conditions contained in the storage conditions in the room.
