  • Geopolymer foamed concrete is the result of a combination of geopolymer concrete and foam concrete Geopolymer foamed concrete is a solution about materials that have good characteristics and light specific gravity. This research focuses on geopolymer foamed concrete microstructure foaming agents and water as the variations. The material composition from geopolymer foamed concrete is fly ash, an activator consisting of NaOH and Na2SiO3, fine aggregate, water and foam made from a mixture of foaming agents and water with variations of 1:40, 1:30 and 1:20. This study focuses on microstructural properties such as SEM and XRD. Samples used 28 days after mixing The. tests use to compare microstructure with specific gravity and compressive strength. The test results show that microcrack affects the compressive strength of geopolymer foamed concrete. Sample 1:40 has a compressive strength value of 17.68 MPa with a microcrack width of 3.00 mm, sample 1:30 has a compressive strength of 22.13 MPa with a microcrack width of 1.96 MPa and sample 1:20 has a compressive strength of 25 , 33 MPa with a microcrack width of 1.85 mm. Pore size affects specific gravity in each sample even though the difference in density between samples is carried by 10%. The XRD results show that all three samples have high quartz content.
