- This research have purpose to know about the impact both in social and economy from salt mine opening for villager at Talang Balai Baru II Tanjung Raja district Ogan Ilir regency people. This research using qualitative research that purposed to describing about both the social impact of salt mine and also the economy impact from the salt mine for the people at the village. Informan choosen by using purposive method so we can get some criteria that are compatible with the research purpose with some line and qualification are villager that live in Talang Balai Baru II Village, man, the age range at 30-60 years old. The research have show that the result that given from the salt mine opening are job opening, change of proffesion, and the social impact that not hoped to occur are social conflict and the villager health that drop down since the salt mine opening. From economic side the increasing income from the salt mine for villager, and the impact that not hoped to happen is the increasing for rivalry between the villager.
