  • Background: The palate is a bone structure that separates the oral cavity and the nasal cavity. The palate has a different depth. The depth of the palate can be influenced by many factors, including the shape and size of the jaw, and the type of malocclusion. Anterior crowding and anterior protrusion are common malocclusions. Aim: This study aimed to compare the palatal depth in anterior crowding and anterior protrusive of maxillary teeth in women with class I malocclusion angle. Materials and methods: This study was an analytical research with a cross-sectional design. The total sample was 34 females, 17 individuals with anterior crowding teeth and 17 with protrusive anterior teeth. Dental impression was carried out to obtain study model of all samples. Palate depth was obtained from the results of the Palatal Height Index (PHI) calculation measured in the study model. Data were analyzed using unpaired t-test. Results: The results showed that there was no significant difference between the palatal depth in anterior crowding and anterior protrusive teeth (p>0,05). The average palatal depth in the anterior crowding teeth was 44.18 mm and the average palatal depth in the protrusive anterior teeth was 41.20 mm. Conclusion: There was no significant difference between the palatal depth in anterior crowding and anterior protrusive teeth.
