KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VII.1 DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS PROYEK MATERI ARITMATIKA SOSIAL DI SMP NEGERI 1 PALEMBANG

- This research is aimed to describe students’ problem solving skill in mathematics learning using project based learning. This research is descriptive research with 31 students of VII.1 class at SMPN 1 Palembang as the subject. Learning process accords to characteristic and steps of project based learning strategy. The technique for collecting data is a test which includes of five problems. According to the results of research, it is obtained that representation of students’ problem solving skill in project based learning on VII.1 class at SMPN 1 Palembang is medium with these details: 1 student has very high problem solving skill or the percentage is 3,23%, 4 students have high problem solving skill or the percentage is 12,9%, 16 students have medium problem solving skill or the percentage is 51,61%, and 10 students have low problem solving skill or the percentage is 32,26. Furthermore, the ‘understanding problem’ indicator has the highest percentage at 85%. Indicator of ‘making a plan’ has the percentage at 54%, indicator of ‘carrying out the plan’ has the percentage at 51%, and the ‘looking back’ indicator has the lowest percentage at 31%.
