  • This descriptive study was aim to describe the mathematical reasoning capability of SMP N 9 Students in Solving PISA Questions Change and Relationship Content. The subjects of this study were ninth grade students of SMP N 9 Palembang which consisted of 54 students. The questions of PISA change and relationship content and interview were used in this study as the data collection technique to obtain the accurate data about the students’ mathematical reasoning capability in solving the questions. Based on the result, it was found that the mathematical reasoning capability of SMP N 9 students were evenly distributed on each category, and the highest percentage were 22,22% in enough category, 20,37% in good and bad category, and 18,52% in very good and very bad category. Then, misunderstanding the questions were found as the students’ mistake in answering the questions, they got it wrong in determining the concept and the procedure, in doing the calculation, as well as they were not accustomed in solving the questions with a lot of information and interconnected. Furthermore, the percentage of reasoning achievement indicator based on the test data and interview were 73,15% in analyzing, 70,76% in integrating, 49.69% in concluding and 35,18% in justify.
