  • Kirinyuh leaves (Chromolaena odorata Linn) is a plant including to the family of asteraceae. Flavonoid compound has the potential to inhibit the enzyme xantin oxidase as catalyst for establishment of uric acid. This study purpose to determine of the antihyperuricemia activity of kirinyuh leaves ethanol extract in male white rats previously with high purine food. Parameters seen are the number of percent decrease uric acid levels to white male rats. The test animals divided into 5 groups is positive control, negartive control and group test with therapy dose 175 mg / Kg/BB, 350 mg / Kg/BB and 700 mg / Kg/BB. High purine food induction was performed on the whole group except normal group. Induction is done per oral every day with volume of administration calculated based on the weight of each male white rats. Test results showed a significant decrease in uric acid levels (P<0,05) of each dose variation in the test group. The higher the dose of kirinyuh leaves ethanol extract then the higher the level of uric acid in the body of the test animals. The value of ED50 from kirinyuh leaves ethanol extract (EEDA) is 216,074 mg / KgBB.Total flavonoid contained on kirinyuh leaves ethanol extract that is 16,786 mg/g.
