  • Aphis craccivora is one of the important pests in Leguminoceae in Indonesia. This insect has a wide range of hosts and extensive distribution. The application of vegetable insecticides from papaya leaf extract is expected to reduce the presence of pests. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of several concentrations of papaya leaf extract in influencing population level, attack, and intensity of Aphis craccivora on long bean plants. This study began in November 2018 to January 2019. This study used a Randomized Block Design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment was: P0 = Control, P1 = 5% papaya leaf extract, P2 = Papaya leaf extract 10%, P3 = 15% papaya leaf extract, P4 = 20% papaya leaf extract, and P5 = 25% papaya leaf extract. The parameters observed were population, percentage and intensity of attack on long bean plants. The results showed that the administration of papaya leaf extract was influential in suppressing the population, but Aphis craccivora in long bean plants. The highest average population was found in treatment P0 (Control) of 6.93 tails and the lowest was in treatment P3 (15%) of 3.47 tails. The average percentage of the highest attack on P2 (10%) was 7.20% and the lowest was found in treatment P3 (15%) of 3.30%. The average intensity of attack is highest in the control treatment of 3.48% and the lowest is in the treatment of P3 (15%) of 1.10%.
