The title of this research is "Analysis of the meaning of photojournalism (study of journalistic photos of evacuation of Palu earthquake victims in Balaroa on Instagram account Tirto.id 2019) " this study aims to find out what the photos of the Palu Earthquake Victims Evacuation in Balaroa mean on the Tirto.id Instagram account. The theory used in this study is Roland Barthes's Semiotic theory which has three dimensions of meaning in reading photographic images namely Denotation meaning, connotation meaning, and Myth meaning supported by theories of photographic and journalistic photo techniques. The method in this study is a qualitative method using qualitative descriptive data. The technique of collecting data is by observing journalistic evacuation photos of victims of the Palu Earthquake in Balaroa and conducting interviews with journalistic photo practitioners as supporting data to strengthen the arguments carried out by researchers. The results in this study are to know the meaning of the journalistic photos of evacuation victims of the Palu Earthquake in Balaroa in Denotation, Connotation, and Myth.
