The theory that is used to measure the effectiveness of interpersonal communication (independent variable) stated by Devito (1997:259-264) and for the employee performnace (dependent variable) stated by Bernardin and Russel in Sutrisno (2009:179-180). This method in this research is descriptive quantitative and explanatory techniques. The techniques used for data analysis is done by distributing questionnaires to 81 employee of cooperatives and small-medium office sout sumatera as respondents with non probability sampling techniques that is saturared sample. The result of data analysis in this research were obtained through hypotesis testing using t test that tcalc is bigger than ttable which tcalc 5,852 > ttable 1,994 which means there is an influence of interpersonal communication on the employee performance in cooperatives small-medium office of south sumatera also the influence given in the amount 32 % where the rest is influenced by other factors. The linear regression equation obtained is y = 31,006 + 0,564X which means each addition to one effectiveness of interpersonal communication will increase 0,564 on the employee performance of cooperatives.
