- Career development is a way for organizations to support or improve employee performance. In this study the survey conducted was an employee of the Department of Agriculture and Food Crops and Horticulture, South Sumatra province with a population of 131 people. By using the Slovin method, there were 99 respondents. To answer the research objectives, a simple regression analysis is used. Career development has a positive and significant influence on the performance of employees of the Department of Agriculture, Food Crops and Horticulture, South Sumatra province. Based on the results of this study, the advice that can be given by the author is in order to improve the performance of the employees of the Department of Agriculture, Food Crops and Horticulture, South Sumatra province in order to conduct periodic evaluations of the education and training of employees in order to achieve organizational goals.
