- Farmers gave the compost in to the soil with sown onto the soil surface. Composting with sown onto the soil surface could losses by leaching, evaporation, and erosion. The addition of briquette compost into the soil could decrease nutrient losses by leaching, evaporation, and erosion. Using briquette compost could improve the physical, chemical, and biological of soil, one of them increase the nutrient content in the swampy land. The purpose of this research was to found that the influence of methods and dosage of briquette application on soil and plant potassium content, see soil organic carbon and rice yield. This research used Factorial Randomized Blog Design. Which technique of application was the first factor and dosage as second factor. The first factor are application of briquette of one briquette for one plant (T1) , and one briquette for four plant (T4) and the dosage were 0 ton ha-1 (B0), 10 ton ha-1 (B10), 20 ton ha-1 (B20), and 30 ton ha-1 ( B30).The research show that the technique and dose application influence soil potassium and rice yield significantly but didn’t affect to plant potassium and soil organic carbon significantly.The availability Soil potassium achieved by combination combination of one briquette for one plant with dosage of 30 ton ha- 1. The best result achieved by combination of one briquette for one plant and 20 ton ha-1 dry milled rice (10,3 ton ha-1).
