  • This research was conducted in farmer’s local field on Palembang-Prabumulih street KM 32 North Indralaya District of Timbangan, Regency of Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera and in the Laboratory Physic and Chemical Soil, Agriculture Faculty, University of Sriwijaya from October to Desember 2015. This research aims to: 1) The difference of the appearance soil chemical character of burnt and unburnt on various vegetation upland soil, 2) The change of soil chemical character of burnt and unburnt vegetation in upland soil. The method on this research used the case study method. In 6 cases of incident, those are unburnt shrubs plant, burnt shrubs plant, unburnt rubber plant, burnt rubber plant, unburnt forest, and burnt forest. The difference of the appearance of chemical character soil in unburnt land more higher than in burnt land. The chemical character has changed and degrated after the fire because of the degradation of C-organic, total Nitrogen, available Phosphor, Cation Exchange Capacity, and Al-dd. Furthermore, the increase nutrient was pH, H2O, pH KCL, and Kalium.
