ANALISIS KARAKTERISTIK BIOFISIK HABITAT PENELURAN PENYU LEKANG (Lepidochelys olivacea) DI PANTAI PULAU SERANGAN BALI
Daftar Isi:
- Serangan Island Bali is one of the islands which is the habitat of nesting for sea turtles. Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) are reptiles. Which can migration in far distances and internationally on the red list of endangered species. The purposes of this research were to know the nesting habitat biophysical characteristics of sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) and to analyze the relationship of biophysical characteristics with quantity of nests in Serangan Island Beach, Bali. The research was conducted in July 2017 at 3 observation stations. Research resulted, that Serangan Island Beach had 222.91-454.28 m of length and 25.30- 30.55 m of width, quantity of nests were 18, the slope of coastal elevation was 3.17o- 5.38o, temperature nest 24.5oC- 26oC, 42.5-45.5 cm nest depth, gravel and sand substrate, coastal vegetation dominated by Casuarina equisetifolia, and mixed tides. The results of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) showed that the relationship of biophysical characteristics with the quantity of sea turtle nests in Serangan Island had very strong relationship and negatively correlated with gravel (-0,965) and coastal slope (-0,953). Strong relationship and positively correlated with coastal vegetation (0,866). Medium relationship with medium sand (-0,684), weak relationship with very coarse sand (-0,310), very weak relationship with negative correlated coastal width (-0,140). very weak relationship and positively correlated with coarse sand (0,233).
