  • Inceptisol can be considered as land that has great potential to be used in support the agricultural production in Indonesia because inceptisol has a large area. Inceptisol generally have a high level of soil acidity and low nutrient content, especially the availability of P and total K. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of vermicompost application in some soil chemical properties on inceptisol. The research was conducted at Greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya from December 2015 until March 2016. The material used in this research is inceptisol, vermicompost made from goat manure, cow manure and chicken manure, water and materials analysis of soil chemical properties. This research uses a completely randomized design factorial of two factors. The first factor is the type of material treatment vermicompost (P) is P1 = vermicompost made from goat manure, P2 = vermicompost made from cow manure and P3 = vermicompost made from chicken manure. The second factor is the dose vermicompost treatment (D) is D0 = 0% vermicompost, D1 = 2.5% vermicompost, D2 = 5% vermicompost and vermicompost D3 = 7.5%. The parameters observed in this research is soil pH, soil organic carbon, total N, available P and exchangeable K. The results of this reasearch showed that application of vermicompost very significatly effect on changes in soil pH, soil organic carbon, available P and exchangeable K. The interaction between factors material types of vermicompost and doses of vermicompost very significatly effect on change the availability of P in the soil and significantly effect on change in exchangeable K.
