PENGARUH LAMA PERENDAMAN ASAM GIBERELAT (GA3) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN RHIZOMA GANYONG (Canna edulis KER.)
Daftar Isi:
- The aims of this research was to determine soaking duration Gibberelic Acid (GA3) on the growth rhizome of edible canna. This research was conducted from December 2015- July 2016 at the Experimental Field and Laboratory of Plant Physiology Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Inderalaya. The method used in this research completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of seven treatments and four replications. The treatments were T0 (without soaking), T1 (soaking 6 hours), T2 (soaking 12 hours), T3 (soaking 18 hours), T4 (soaking 24 hours), T5 (soaking 30 hours) and T6 (soaking for 36 hours). The consentration of Gibberellic Acid used 100 ppm and the rhizome used halved rhizome. The parameters observed in this study was the time to appear shoots, plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, leaf greenness level, the number of total chlorophyll, fresh weight of tubers, plant fresh weight, and harvest index. The results showed that soaking the rhizome of canna with a gibberellic acid (GA3) significantly affect the time arises shoots, plant height, leaf number, and the number of seedlings but did not significantly affect the variable level of greenness of leaves, the number of total chlorophyll, fresh weight of the plants, and heavy fresh tubers. Soaking canna rhizome with GA3 increased the time of appearing shoots in the treatment of T1 at the nursery, plant height and the number of tillers in the treatment T4, and the number of leaves on T2 treatment. Soaking canna rhizome with GA3 has the ability to grow good compared to controls. However, further research is needed with a combination of different growth regulators.
