- Seaweed in Indonesia has considerable potential but its utilization is still limited mainly as antibacterial and antioxidant. Seaweed Padina sp. belonging to brown algae that have potential. The purpose of the research was analyzed antibacterial and antioxidant bioactivity in seaweed extract of Padina sp. The methods used to measurement of water quality, sampling and preparation of samples, maceration and extraction, antibacterial activity test, antioxidant activity test and phytochemical test. The quality of the water in Hurun Lampung’s Bay has a suitable environment for growth the seaweed Padina sp. Maseration and extraction used two solvents ethyl acetate and ethanol. Bioactivity antibacterial Seaweed extract Padina sp. was higher with ethyl acetate solvent in E. coli bacteria (7.70 mm) ethanol solvent in S. aureus bacteria (6.20 mm). Extract Padina sp. in ethyl acetate (Pa-Ea) solvent was medium antioxidant potency with IC50 (144,01 ppm) and ethanol solvent was weak category antioxidant potency with IC50 (274,63 ppm). Phytochemical test of extract Padina sp. there was alkaloid compounds, steroids and triterpenoids.
