  • The purpose of the research was to study The effect of selenium supplementation on microscopic quality of simmental bull frozen semen microscopic quality. The research was held from November 2015 to February 2016 at Local Artificial Insemination Institute Sembawa, Banyuasin, South Sumatera. Latin square experimental design were applied with orally Selenium treatments; P0 (control), P1 (0,01 mg Se), P2 (0,02 mg Se) and P3 (0,03 mg Se). The result showed that Se supplementation has no significant effect (P>0,05) on motility, viability and morphology of simmental bull frozen semen. Based on the result of the research, could be conclude that supplementation of selenium 0,03 mg dose can maintaining motility, viability, and morphology of frozen semen of simmental bull. Increasing number of motility 17,10%, viability 12,45%and morphology 15,05% compared without Se supplementation.
