- This thesis is titled Media Wealth WhatsApp Messenger group Marketing Sub Division of Tourism of Palembang City. Automatic interaction does not require physical meetings to disseminate information or just share experiences and establish friendly relations. This study aims to determine the richness of the WhatsApp messenger media sub group in the marketing department of the city of Palembang tourism. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study to illustrate the media wealth of the WhatsApp Messeger group. The data used in the form of primary and secondary data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. This research was analyzed using Media Richness Theory or media wealth theory. The results showed that the wealth of the whatsapp group media was not completely perfect considering the convenience offered by the WhatsApp application was very helpful between employees in work, but in fact in the group there were often misunderstandings between employees because whatsapp media could not fully represent face-to-face communication, so that employee policy is needed in utilizing the media wisely so that mobile communication is needed as a means of supporting every activity.
