  • The corn plant sweet (zea mays var saccharata sturt) is one of commodities food have prospect important in Indonesia. Sweet Corn need fertilizer inorganic high. Fertilizer inorganic this will have a negative impact for the land and environment, hence required alternative by the use of organic in order to reduce the need fertilizer inorganic. Research aims to understand the influence of various doses the provision of filter cake accompanied weeding on the growth of weeds and production of sweet corn. This research was conducted in December 2015 to March 2016 in the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya. The design used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 11 treatments are repeated three times, in order to get 33 units of treatment. The treatment consists of a control P0 (without blotong and weeding), P1 (without filter cake and free weed until 4 Weeks After Planting (WAP), P2 (Filter cake 20 ton ha-1 weeding 2 WAP), P3 (Filter cake 20 ton ha-1 weeding 3 WAP), P4 (Filter cake 20 ton ha-1 weeding 4 WAP), P5 (Filter cake 40 ton ha-1 weeding 2 WAP), P6 (Filter cake 40 ton ha-1 weeding 3 WAP), P7 (Filter cake 40 ton ha-1 weeding 4 WAP), P8 (Filter cake 60 ton ha-1 weeding 2 WAP), P9 (Filter cake 60 ton ha-1 weeding 3 WAP), P10 (Filter cake 60 ton ha-1 weeding 4 WAP). Variables is observed tall plant, number of leaves, flowering age, heavy cob husk leaves per plants, heavy cob husk leaves per tenement, heavy cob without husk leaves per plants, heavy cob without husk leaves per tenement, long cob, the diameter of the tunny and heavy dry plants. The results showed that the filter cake with a dose of 20 ton ha-1 weeded 3 WAP provide a good influence on the growth of plants, such as heavy cob husk leaves per ear, weight of cobs without husks per ear, weight of cobs without husks per plot, cob length and diameter of the cob. Weeds dominant on field before research namely Eleusine indica and weeds the dominant on land after treatment since 2 (WAP) namely P2 , P5 and P8 same (Ageratum conyzoides), 3 (WAP) namely P3 (Cyperus kyllingia), P6 (Ageratum conyzoides), P9 (Eleusine indica), 4 (WAP) P4, P7, and P10 same (Ageratum conyzoides) .
