  • This classroom action research aims to improve the speaking skills of class III students at SD Negeri 17 Palembang. The method used is Model Two Stay-Two Stray. The form of this research is classroom action research carried out in three cycles. The subjects studied were third grade students of SD Negeri 17 Palembang in the academic year 2018/2019 with a total of 27 students. The data of this study were collected using observation and test methods. The results of this study indicate that (1) there is an increase in the percentage of speaking skills from 33% in cycle one to 74% in cycle two, and (2) an increase in percentage of students' speaking skills significantly from 74% in cycle II to 96% in cycle III. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the application of the Two Stay-Two Stray model has improved the speaking skills of third grade students of SD 17 17 in the academic year 2018/2019.
