  • Ultisol is the type of land sour salpetre many found in South Sumatra whose potential for agricultural cultivation despite having fertility level low ground. One of the organic with the ability productivity improvement Ultisol is azolla compost. This research was aimed to determine doses of azolla compost and to know the influence of the provision of azolla compost in lowering the solubility of Al-exchangeable and increase production soybean planted on Ultisol. This research was conducted at shadow house located in front of the glass house of soil Departement, Faculty of agriculture, Sriwijaya University and analysis done in Laboratory of Biology, Chemistry and Soil Fertility Sriwijaya University, Laboratory environmental research agriculture, PATI Central Java and in the laboratory PT. Binasawit Makmur, South Sumatra in October 2015 until April 2016. The study was arranged by Completely Randomized Design with nine treatments and three replications to achieve combination 27 units with P0 (control), P1 (compost 2,5 ton ha-1), P2 (compost 5 ton ha-1), P3 (compost 7,5 ton ha-1), P4 (compost 10 ton ha-1), P5 (compost 12,5 ton ha-1), P6 (compost 15 ton ha-1), P7 (compost 17,5 ton ha-1), P8 (compost 20 ton ha-1). The parameters that observed were pH H2O soil, C-organic in soil, Al-exchageable in soil, dry weight soybean roots and and the soybean fruit per plants. The result showed that the doses of azolla compost significant effect on pH H2O at 45 day’s after planted and 90 day’s after planted, C-organic 45 day’s after planted and 90 day’s after planted, Al-exchangeable in soil at 45 day’s after planted and the soybean fruit per plants, but did not significantly affect on Al-exchageable at 90 day’s after planted and dry weight soybean roots. Treatment azolla compost having best doses in lowering solubility Al-exchageable reaching 94 until 95% and increasing production soybean reached 84% is to give doses azolla compost 20 tons ha-1 (P8).
