  • The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of generative learning model on the ability to write report text of the observation results of X grade students of SMK Negeri Sumsel. The research method was a quasi-experimental. The population of this study was all students of class X. The sample of this study consisted of two classes; class X TITL 3 as an experimental class of 36 students with generative learning model treatment, and class X TITL 2 as a comparison class (control class) of 36 students with conventional model treatment. Data collection technique was tests and data analysis technique using t-test calculations with SPSS 22 program. The results showed that there were differences in test results between the experimental class and the control class. The average score of the initial test of the experimental class was 60.39 and after being given the final test the average score of the experimental class students was 75.36. The average score of the initial test of the control class was 55.94, after being given the final test the average score of the control class was 65.56. The results of t-test calculations showed that t (test)> t (table) or 4.562> 1.667 with df = 70 at a significance level of 95% (α = 0.05), because t (test) was greater than t (table) then Ho was rejected. Thus, Ha stated "There was differences between generative learning model and conventional model in the the ability to write report text of the observation results of X grade students of SMK Negeri Sumsel" was accepted. With the acceptance of Ha, it can be concluded that the generative learning model was influential in the ability to write report text of the observation results of X grade students of SMK Negeri Sumsel.
